15th September 2012
Following the excellent reception from his ArtsFest performance at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, Matt will be performing at a charity event in Atherstone at St. Mary's Church on Saturday 15th September from 7:30pm, performing pieces taken from the ArtsFest set by Albeniz, Tarrega, Barrios and Brouwer (shorty beforeheading northwards to tackle the BUPA Great North Run on Sunday 16th September!).
9th September 2012
Matt is due to perform two slots during the local free festival ArtsFest on Sunday 9th September. The first is a Street Performance at Chamberlain Square from 11:30am - 12:00pm and the second is a recital at Gallery 22 of the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery from 4:00pm - 4:30pm. Matt will be playing a set of music from the great composers including an original arrangement of two Gavottes from Bach's Cello Suites and music from Satie, Albeniz, Tarrega and Barrios.
12th-13th May 2012
The first performance of 2012 for Matt is Dartmouth's premiere festival - the Dart Music Festival - featuring an eclectic mix of musicians performing throughout the city on April 11th, 12th & 13th. Matt will be playing an hour long set of Spanish guitar music at St. Saviour's Church on Saturday 12th May from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
May 2012
During the winter months Matt has been busy working away in Leeds recording his debut studio album entitled "Artista Callejero" with producer Steven Priddon. The album features 18 pieces and 45mins of classical guitar music and the title literally translates as "Street Performer", a reference to Matt's experience of busking in sunny Stratford-upon-Avon in 2011.
With the album artwork completed and a set of stylish vinyl look CDs selected, all that remains os to finish off some mixing and mestering before they will be ready for sale at £10 each. Keep your eyes peeled for the release date!
August 2011
Matt has recently been featured in a short film project entitled "Motion Becomes Music" by Ian Leslie-Miller.
The project takes a look at a small number of street performers in Henley Street (the site of Shakespeare's birth place) and Bancroft Gardens in Stratford, with a close focus on the origin of sound production on each instrument featured.
